  • decide what to test
  • choose the tasks
  • write test scenarios
  • recruit participants
  • get stakeholders to attend (optional)

Use websites like Craigslist to recruit. Recuitment process:

  • put out invitations (provide email address only)
  • screen the most promising candidates

Follow-up email:

  • send confirmation email; instructions where to park/bus, etc; location of room
  • phone number to call ICE
  • non-disclosure agreement
  • the day before the test, call the users to confirm attendance and ask if they have any questions.
